Dirty Santa, Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight!

Catchy title there, eh? I'm going to be singing about Dirty Santa the rest of the day now.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we got together with my husband's side of the family. We celebrated Thanksgiving, but we also celebrated Sokey Day and played a little game of Dirty Santa because we wouldn't be seeing most of them for Christmas.

I thought it might be helpful, for those of you who play Dirty Santa, to know what the hot ticket gifts were. I always stress when I have to buy a gift for the Dirty Santa game. I never know what to buy. Who wants to buy a gift no one wants?!?  I've bought my fair share of Chia Pets and well, that boat has sailed.

Brett and I went to Wal-Mart on Black Friday to find gifts for our Dirty Santa game. He knew exactly what he was going to buy and thought it would be the most fought-over gift. We have two second cousins who are in their twenties, male and he was just certain they would fight over a case of beer. Yeah, well, he was wrong. His poor sister ended up with the Bud Light. She begged and pleaded for someone to steal it from her. Their reply? "We can have free beer anytime!" Poor Sis!

My gift wasn't much better. I decided to buy the Rubbermaid 40 piece storage bowls. I bought it because I would have been happy to end up with it. And, do you know what? I did end up with it. *snort* I have needed new plastic bowls with lids for some time now. It's always important to buy something that you like, just in case you end up with it.
The two cousins, who are in their twenties, came with the two most fought-over gifts...

Apples to Apples

This was the first time I'd ever played Apples to Apples. It was FuN!!!
Every house needs to have this game in its game closet.
Brandon brought this game and wanted to keep it so badly. He persuaded his dad to steal it so he could take it home. Stinker!

The other most fought-over gift was the Oklahoma Sooner Snuggie. At one point I had in my hands the Apples to Apples game and then the Snuggie. I didn't end up with either. My husband, however, did win the Snuggie. Now I'll feel like part of the gang with Baloney and Yogi and their love for all things Snuggie!

So, what are some of your favorite gifts to buy when you play Dirty Santa? I sure could use some ideas for the future. Obviously, plastic ware is not a gift to fight over.
