Jingle Bells RHOK!

On Sunday all eight housewives finagled their schedules to come together for a PJ, Pigtails & Cocktails Christmas party at my house. It almost took an act of congress to get us all together, at one time, and under one roof.

I was excited to have everyone over, but as you know, there's lots of preparation involved when you have a Christmas party at your house. As soon as Thanksgiving weekend was over I began decorating my house for Christmas. I even put up decorations I hadn't put up in years. Courtney, my 12 year old, even commented that she couldn't remember when our house looked so Christmas-y. Poor child.

After the Christmas decorations were up, the cleaning began. I didn't want to wait until the last minute to clean because I knew I'd end up just shoving things in closets, bags, and boxes. Don't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about! I wanted to really clean and get a little organized in the process. I did get a few things organized and cleaned out, but in the end, I still managed to stuff a few things behind closed doors. I'm pretty sure not one person noticed that I washed all my silk greenery.... sigh. But, boy does it feel good to have my house clean!

I've talked about my husband's family recipe for meatballs and spaghetti sauce so much that the other housewives wanted to try it. I brought back a freezer bag full from Sokey Day so all I had to do was thaw it and heat it up. This spaghetti sauce and meatballs are not the typical Italian fair. These have a KICK and totally rock! I'd share the recipe with you but then I'd have to kill you or be banished from Earth by my husband's family.

The other housewives pitched in by bringing salad, bread sticks, desserts, appetizers, and drinks. It was all just YUMMY! Mrs. Priss shared her recipe with me for Rum Punch so I made that as well. It was a huge hit. Mrs. Coco brought Sopapilla Cheesecake. OMG! It was delicious. It was so scrumptious that I'm making it for cooking club tonight.

And, because I love you all so much, I'm going to share BOTH these awesome recipes with you!

1 Quart Rum - you can use the cheap stuff
1 can frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1/2 can frozen lemonade concentrate
5 cups water
1 jar maraschino cherries - just dump the whole jar in, juice and all.

I mixed mine in my old Tupperware cake carrier. I just turned it upside down and used the topper for a bowl. It literally filled it to the rim. I put the "lid" on it and stuffed it in the freezer for 24 hours.

(If you have the bigger, deeper Tupperware cake carrier you could even double your recipe. You won't be sorry that you doubled it. I'm just sayin'.... )

Take it out of the freezer about 5 or 10 minutes before you want to serve it so it isn't completely frozen. It will turn out looking like this:

Sopapilla Cheesecake

2 cans crescent rolls
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 oz pkgs of cream cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lay one can of crescent rolls in GREASED 9X13 pan, pinching rolls together to form first layer.
Mix sugar, vanilla and cream cheese in bowl.  Spread cream cheese mix to make 2nd layer.
Lay the next layer of rolls for the 3rd layer.

Melt 1 stick of butter and pour on top of 3rd layer; sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture on top

Bake 30 minutes

After dinner, we moved to the living room to play a little Dirty Santa gift exchange. We didn't end up going with the funny gifts, although Priss and I wanted to. Instead, we went with nice gifts. There were a few hot items that got stolen a few times. It was fun and everyone ended up with a really nice gift.

Before you see pictures of us in our pajamas and pigtails, I'd just like to say, if you want to feel at least 20 years younger than you are.... put on footy pajamas and put your hair in pigtails! I felt like a kid again.

Pajamas, Pigtails &..... Pretzels?!?
Mrs. Sinclair brought a craft for us... we made pretzels and I LOVED them!

Someone, I'm not mentioning names (but, it starts with a P) brought some little party favors that were quite funny.

It's time for a some Dirty Santa gift swapping!

Decisions, Decisions!

Mrs. Sinclair opened the Party In A Pitcher and the margarita glass, but it got stolen from her. I wish I could say that I was the one that stole it!

Mrs. Edwards and her gift! I love it - Practice Random Acts of Wineness!

Priss is showing a little school spirit!

Mrs. Albright & Mrs. Montgomery - Yes, this is how I looked when I was 12!

Pure Orneriness!

I just want to say what a privilege it is to be a part of The RHOK. These ladies are sweet, smart, sassy and just down right FuN! I can not wait for our next RHOK Out (to be announced) so that you all can meet the new housewives in real life. You won't be disappointed.
