I guess since my kids went back to school I can't be on my leisurely summer schedule anymore. My brain & body strongly disagree though!
So in celebration of back to school and back to busy, I am going to share some quick slow cooker recipes which have 5 ingredient or less! The easier the better, right?
Teriyaki Turkey (for Sandwiches)
1-1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless turkey thighs
1/2 cup teriyaki baste and glaze sauce
3 Tbsp. orange marmalade
1/4 tsp. pepper
Combine all ingredients in 3-4 quart slow cooker; cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Remove turkey from slow cooker, shred turkey using two forks, and return to slow cooker. Cook on high for 10-15 minutes until sauce is thickened. Serve on hoagie buns.
3 Ingredient Pork Chops
4 pork chops, well trimmed
1 envelope onion soup mix
10 oz. can ready to serve chicken broth
You can brown the pork chops if you wish in a nonstick skillet 3-4 minutes on each side. Place pork chops in 3-1/2-4 quart crock pot. In medium bowl, combine soup mix and chicken broth and stir until blended. Pour this mixture over the pork chops. Cover crock pot and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours. 4 servings
Faux Chicken Cordon Bleu
6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
6 pieces of Swiss cheese, 1/2" x 3"
10 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic
3 Tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. pepper
Flatten each chicken breast with wooden mallet or rolling pin. Place piece of cheese in the center of each. Fold up and secure with toothpicks. Place in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over chicken bundles, making sure pieces are fully covered.
Cover crock pot. Cook on low 6-7 hours, until chicken is thoroughly cooked
ready for a nap
